Conor Gleeson and Neil Montgomery will miss Waterford's Munster semi final against Cork next Saturday.
The pair picked up hamstring injuries during the county senior football championship and Liam Cahill told WLR Sport last night that both players have been ruled out of the Cork clash. "They won't make it unfortunately. That's the luck of it, that's sport. Really disappointed for Conor and Neil that they won't make it. That's the whole idea of having a panel. One man's misfortune is another man's gain."
Cahill also confirmed that captain Pauric Mahony suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury against Wexford last weekend. "We had a challenge game last Saturday and it looked to be just a jar of the knee more so than anything else. The dreaded news was revealed Tuesday morning, after a scan, that there was damage to the cruciate knee ligament. Really gutted for the man himself. Really disappointed that it has ended this way for him. The type of man he is, he just wants us all to try and focus and go ahead with our business for next Saturday. It's a testament to the man he is, he puts the team first and he asked us to deal with it and move on."
