Waterford Junior League Football has been thrown into chaos following the decision of the entire Junior League Committee to resign.
It follows a dispute with Tramore AFC which has been on-going for some weeks.
Martin Flavin, the Secretary and his fellow colleagues including John Foskin, Damien Tiernan and Michael Butler have decided to step down.
In a letter sent to clubs, the management committee said the decision stemmed from a recent incident whereby the secretary had received "abusive and threatening" behaviour when he made contact with someone he believed to be a representative of Tramore AFC. Although that person was not the club's representative, the alleged behaviour was not condemned by the club, according to the statement.
As a result of this decision, it's unclear what will unfold when the Junior League fixtures resume following the resumption of games following the Covid-19 restrictions.
There is a possibility that the Munster Football Association may have to take charge of affairs until a solution is reached or a new committee is formed.
