Ballygunner will face near neighbours Passage in the first round of the Waterford SHC in late July.
The draws for both senior championships were made in Dungarvan on Monday night.
The Gunners will seek a record equalling ninth title in a row. Before that, Darragh O'Sullivan's side will take on The Shamrocks from Ballyhale in the All Ireland club final on February 12 at Croke Park.
De La Salle, who survived the drop in 2022, will join their Eastern rivals in a tasty Group A. The top team in each group will qualify for the quarter finals while the other eight sides will enter the play-offs.
The Nire will start their defence of the Conway Cup against old enemies Stradbally.
