New Waterford coach Dan Shanahan came off the bench as Lismore retained their senior hurling status with a 0-22 to 0-10 win over Tallow at Fraher Field on Friday night.
The 47 year old has hurled for the black and amber at adult level since 1993. 32 seasons in a row. This was his first senior appearance of 2024 as he has been starting at full forward for the Junior B team.
Younger brother Maurice led Lismore to safety with thirteen points (nine frees). Paudie Prendergast and Ben O'Sullivan scored three apiece from play.
Tallow lost goalkeeper Shaun O'Sullivan to injury in the second half before top scorer Tommy Ryan received a straight red card.
