The Waterford ladies football team will play in Walsh Park for the first time in 21 years later this month.
The Déise welcome Donegal to the Keane's Road venue on Sunday, June 23 in Round 2 of the All Ireland series. Waterford boss Pat Sullivan says that it is a positive development for the county with the three associations set to merge by 2027. "It's a major step forward for us. To get into Walsh Park, with Fraher Field unavailable, is massive. We're very happy to have the opportunity to play there."
He wants to see the home fans out in force. "We're hoping to get a lot of support. It's really needed because Donegal will bring a lot of supporters to Walsh Park. It's a massive game for us and we want the home crowd behind us."
