Waterford and Ardmore football legend Johnny Hennessey will be inducted into the Munster Hall of fame at tonight's Gala function at Fota Island Resort.
Johnny was a winner of three Railway Cup medals in the 1970's and played a key role in Munster's victory in 1978 as he lined out at wing forward.
Johnny also won a county senior football title with Ardmore in 1977 and starred in a golden era for Waterford football as they reached Division 1 of the National League.
Johnny told WLR Sport playing with Munster alongside some of the greatest ever players was a brilliant experience
Johnny was a selector with the Waterford U-21 footballers in 2003 as they won a terrific Munster Championship, and was also delighted to see his beloved Ardmore win the All-Ireland Junior hurling title earlier this year.

Meanwhile in today's local action, the County Junior 'B' Hurling Championship Final Replay takes place this afternoon.
Dungarvan and Kilmacthomas are back in Fraher Field after the sides played out an exciting draw two weeks ago where it ended 2-7 to 0-13.
Kilmac' will be hoping to make it a double after capturing the Co. Intermediate football title last month, while Dungarvan will be seeking to end the season with some silverware.
That one is underway at 2pm.
