Tramore born Jim Goodwin has signed a new three-year contract with the SPL club St Mirren.
Aged 39 Jim captained the club to victory in the Scottish League Cup in 2013 and following a successful playing career with the club he was appointed their manager in 2019. He has been extremely successful with the club and their Chief Executive ony Fitzpatrick said today that he was delighted that Jim has agreed to sign a new contract to continue as their manager until 2024:
"The board recognised the excellent work Jim has done here during the past two years and we have given him one of the highest player budgets of any former St Mirren manager and he is now the highest-paid manager in the club's history''.
Jim said he was thrilled continue as the St Mirren manager:
"I'm delighted to extend my contract here. I appreciate the board offering me the new deal and it's great to be part of this club. They are really good people on the board and they are as keen as me to take the club forward and take it to the next level''.
