Tramore Golf Club’s Jack Hearn has won the Craft Farms Intercollegiate in Alabama, USA.

Carrickbeg man Hearn, who plays with college team, the South Alabama Jaguars, grabbed a four-stroke victory to take his maiden crown on thirteen under par.

Sharing the first round lead with Mathis Besard of the University of Illinois, Hearn pulled away with a 66 in his second round, knocking in three consecutive birdies from the sixth to the eighth to move up to 11-under par.

His final round looked threatened to come unstuck with a double bogey at the fourth, but Hearn kept his composure to birdie the following hole, picking up further strokes on the 17th and 18th to close out on -13, with nearest competitor Besard back on -9 at the close of play.

Hearn (23) is coached by Mallow’s PGA professional Michael Collins, and has played with Tramore Golf Club for all of his junior career.

He has represented Ireland at the Quadrangular Internationals, The Boys Home Internationals and European Boys Championship.

The former De La Salle student won the All Ireland Senior Schools title with them in 2017, as well as taking the Munster Boys Order of Merit. Jack Hearn originally signed for McNeese State University in Louisiana before making the move to South Alabama from the 2021-22 season.

His maiden win means he now has one victory, three top tens and two top twenties since joining South Alabama.
