Gailltir captain Margo Heffernan was over the moon to climb the steps last year and lift the county cup.
"It's an honour you can only dream of. I'm lucky to be involved with this team for a long time. I've previously been captain in years where we haven't been as successful, it was a total reward to get up the steps."
The full back has been part of the blue and navy set-up since her teenage years. "A long time ago! As soon as you were good enough, you were old enough. I must have been 14 or 15, secondary school age I'd say and I've been there since."
She lined out with the boys before that. "I played up until under 12 with the boys in Ballygunner. Emma Hannon and Aine Lyng were with me and we learned how to mind ourselves! The boys didn't shy away and we certainly didn't shy away either. I had plenty of outings with the lads."
Gailltir are going for four in a row in Saturday's senior camogie final against De La Salle. Throw in is at 1 o'clock in Walsh Park.
