Déise camogie boss Derek Lyons is calling on Waterford supporters to get behind the team for Saturday's All Ireland quarter final against Limerick at Semple Stadium.

It's the fifth year in a row that Waterford have made this stage of the championship. Lyons wants to see plenty of white and blue in the stands. "Weather-wise, it's supposed to be very good and there's not too much else on. I'd be really delighted if we could get a big support up in Thurles. It's a massive game for the girls. I'd appeal to as many people as possible to go up there and shout them on."

Lyons' charges bounced back from an opening day defeat to Dublin. Waterford won three of their last four group games to reach the knockout stages. "We had to refocus very quickly and luckily enough we had a game the following week against the team that had beaten us in the Division 2 semi finals Wexford. The girls themselves and everybody involved put the shoulder to the wheel and said to ourselves 'we're going to go at this again.'  Every game became a knockout game after that to be honest with you."
