The Management Executive of Waterford County Board have committed to an investigation of the intermediate football final, where a Dungarvan player was fielded while waiting for the results of a covid-19 test.
Dungarvan beat Kill 0-14 to 0-10 in Walsh Park, but the result was overshadowed by the news that a Dungarvan player who had been awaiting a copvid-19 test result on the day of the game would eventually go on to return a positive result for covid-19.
In a statement on twitter, the club said that "errors were made by the club in the interpretation of the covid 19 guidelines" and that "the player involved was following the clubs interpretation of the guidelines and advice at all times, did not attend any of the post match celebrations, and was acting in good faith"
