Injury worries for Ballygunner

Ballygunner will be without three key players for Sunday's Munster club quarter final against Ballyea.

Manager Darragh O'Sullivan says that Philip Mahony, Tim O'Sullivan and Cormac Power will all miss the game through injury. "Sunday is maybe going to come too soon for Philip. He is making progress alright but Sunday might be a little bit too soon for him. Tim O'Sullivan is out through a cruciate. We lost Cormac Power to a dislocated shoulder in a challenge game recently."

The eight week break is a concern for the Ballygunner boss. The Gunners won their eighth county title in a row on October 3 when they defeated Roanmore. "We need to make sure that we're up to the pitch of it on Sunday. It is a concern that it's been so long since we played that it may be difficult to get up to the pace of Munster championship hurling."

Ballyea v Ballygunner will be the George Corbett Skoda Big Match on Sunday. Join Kieran O'Connor and Fergal Hartley for live coverage from 1 o'clock.
