Former Waterford boss John Kiely believes that Dublin should give Jonny Cooper a second chance on David Clifford for Saturday's All Ireland football final replay at Croke Park.
The number three was sent off on two yellows during the first half of the drawn game but Kiely thinks that Jim Gavin will stick to this guns. "He has a couple of choices. Do I start Jonny Cooper on Clifford, do I start Jonny Cooper on somebody else or do I drop Jonny Cooper. If I drop Jonny Cooper, it will be a blow to Jonny Cooper and I'll be waving the white flag saying that we really fear Clifford. If they switch him onto somebody else, they will still be waving the white flag. If I was Jim Gavin for the replay, I'd put Jonny Cooper on David Clifford. If it wasn't an improvement on the last day, well then I could switch him somewhere else. At the end of the day, he's one of Dublin's most dependable defenders over the last couple of years."
