Abbeyside/Ballinacourty defender Brian Looby has been a standout performer in this year's Waterford SFC.
"After the disappointment of the senior hurling championship, he showed outstanding character," Tony Ryan of the Dungarvan Observer told Friday's Lár Na Páirce show. "He didn't let that affect him. He is a hard tackler, has fantastic work rate and comes up the field for the odd score. He's definitely the leader on that team at the moment. Everyone has their own opinion but, to me, he is the best player in the championship this year."
