Waterford referee Thomas Walsh will take charge of his first senior provincial final this evening.

The Modeligo man will be on the whistle for Kilkenny versus Dublin in the Leinster hurling decider at Croke Park.

"He must be in line to referee an All Ireland senior final in the very near future," former Waterford boss Michael Ryan told WLR's Lár Na Páirce show. "He lets the game flow. Some people criticise him at times that he lets it go a bit too much. He's doing very well; he's probably at his best this year. I think the players trust him."

Ryan is predicting wins for Kilkenny and Limerick in this weekend's provincial showdowns.
