Waterford Junior League

Portlaw United ran riot in the Waterford Premier League last weekend as they comprehensively dispatched of Ferrybank 5-2 at home. John Power slotting home twice from the penalty spot.

The result saw Portlaw United leapfrog the north quays side into 6th place.

While it wasn't quite the seven goals in the city, Hibernians and Tycor played out a five goal thriller with Tycor scoring a late winner to make it 3-2 and take home all three points.

Jack Power was at the double for the winners.

The win leaves Tycor one point behind third place Hibernians with a game in hand.

This week could see Villa win their fourth successive league title.

They face Dungarvan United at Connors Park on Wednesday at 7pm. A draw will almost certainly see the title remain in Poleberry for yet another season.

Bohemians and Tramore face off at the same time. Only a victory for Tramore and a favour from Dungarvan will be enough to keep the title race alive.

FAI Junior Cup

Villa made it safely through to the third round of the FAI Junior Cup via a 4-0 win over city rivals Southend United.

Tramore ensured their passage to the fourth round thanks to a comfortable 4-1 victory over 1A side De La Salle.

Jimmy Searson Ardagh Premier Cup

The quarter-finals of the Premier Cup kick off on Saturday with a trio of mouth watering ties.

Ferrybank take on Hibernians, Dungarvan United play host to Bohemians, while Villa welcome Ballinroad to Connors Park.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Tramore make the trip to face Portlaw United.
