Waterford Fc 1 Bohemian FC 1
Sam Glenfield was the Waterford FC hero as they closed out their SSE Airtricity Premier League home campaign with a one all draw which maintained their unbeaten record against Bohemians this season.
Keith Long made two changes to the side that lost to Shelbourne with Darragh Leahy and Shane Flynn dropping to the bench with Connor Parsons and Kacper Radkowski coming back into the side.
And it was Radkowski who had the first chance for the Blues on two minutes when he forced a great near post save from James Talbot.
Bohemians had a good opportunity from a Dayle Rooney corner on twelve minutes but Jake Carroll couldn't turn it into the net at the back post.
Connor Parsons had two good first half chances but his efforts were off target but Podge Amond had the Blues' best chance on 38 minutes but his close range shot was blocked on the line by James Clarke.
And Parsons had another opportunity minutes into the second period when he again came in from the left before unleashing a right footed effort that flew inches outside the far upright.
The breakthrough came for the visitors nine minutes from time when a Dawson Devoy free kick from the left was met cleanly by James Clarke and his powerful header beat the diving Sam Sargeant.
Waterford emptied the bench and it was substitute Glenfield, who scored the winner on his debut against Bohemians in August, who got the equaliser with a thunderous shot from the top of the penalty area to secure a share of the spoils. And he could have won it moments later when he forced a backward fingertip save from Talbot after a great break from the home side.
