Gaultier made it back to the SFC quarter finals after a hard earned 0-13 to 0-10 win over Ardmore at Fraher Field last night.
The teams were level five times before late points by David Jones, Dessie Hutchinson, JJ Hutchinson and Brad Carroll sealed victory for the Eastern side.
Two apiece from JJ Hutchinson and Caomhan Maguire helped them into a 7-5 lead at the break. They moved three points clear eight minutes into the second period as Hutchinson converted two frees. Ardmore drew level with seven minutes left through Ciaran Keating and Sean Barron. Jones then kicked Gaultier's first point in sixteen minutes.
Eight minutes of added time was signalled. Dessie Hutchinson struck from 40 metres to make it 11-9. Barron replied with another free before Seamus Keating blasted wide. JJ Hutchinson (free) and Carroll got the job done for Gaultier.
Manager Martin O'Connor admitted that Ardmore pushed them all the way. "We had some battle here tonight. We are very happy to get out of that game still alive."
