Gailltir are county senior camogie champions for the second time in three years after a 1-17 to 2-13 victory over De La Salle in a rip roaring final at the WIT Arena.
Player of the match Annie Fitzgerald scored nine points, including six in the second half, while full forward Aoife Fitzgerald chipped in with 1-3. Beth Carton fired 1-12 for De La Salle and Abby Flynn also found the net as the Gracedieu side came up short in a nail biting finish.
Gailltir led 1-9 to 0-5 entering first half injury time. Aoife Fitzgerald netted on eight minutes for last year's runners-up. Beth Carton buried a penalty before the break however to leave De La Salle four points down.
The first time finalists levelled the contest on 43 minutes when Abby Flynn produced a brilliant solo goal. Gailltir responded with the next three points. Carton twice closed the gap to one but Salle couldn't find an equaliser over six minutes of stoppage time.
The blue and navy can now look forward to a Munster intermediate final on November 11.
