"So, other than that, we're not so bad."
Fitzgerald says he is hoping for a big display from his side this evening, as they go in search of their first league win:
"It's not so much the 2 points, it's performance. It's making sure that we get the best out of ourselves and that we see improvement.
"Improvement can come with mistakes but if you keep making the same mistakes then you're going nowhere.
"So, in terms of what we saw in the London game, what we're looking for is more support - not to be bringing the ball into contact possession earlier - and to improve on our tackling."
With just a point on the board so far, Fitzgerald says they are a work in progress and he is aware it will take time:
"I'm not trying to make excuses but this for me is a project that's going to take a while. The attitude of the guys that are there has been absolutely first class and I'm thrilled with that.
"It's going to take a bit of time to develop in terms of the habits we want them to form, it will take time.
"That said, I can see that there are positive shoots there."
Throw-in this evening in Carlow's Netwatch Cullen Park is at 7 o'clock.
The full team is as follows:
1. Paudie Hunt (Rathgormack)
