The squad building has continued at the RSC with Yassine En-Neyah being added to Ian Morris' squad for the 2022 season.

The Moroccan comes to Waterford having spent the latter half of the 2021 season with Morris at Shelbourne.

Born in Morrocco in 2000, En-Neyah moved to Ireland at eight years old and last year he told the Irish Independent that football is something that allowed him to fit in when he made the move with his parents.

He got his start with Corduff FC in 2018, before gaining the attention of Nottingham Forest's academy where he plied his trade until moving back to Ireland with Morris' Shels.

Since last year, the 22-year-old is now qualified to play for Ireland having gained his Irish citizenship following a wait to have his documents processed.

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie this Sunday, the midfielder said that "Ian [Morris] is the main reason I wanted to come to Waterford. I worked with him last season and really enjoyed it. He gives youth a chance and he knows his football.

“I’m really excited to meet the players and get started. I’ve watched back some of the games and I know some of the players from the UK too so I can’t wait.”

The news of En-Neyah's arrival follows the confirmation that eight players from last years squad have been retained by Morris for the upcoming first division campaign.
