O'Brien-inspired Ferrybank secure senior hurling for 2024

Mark O'Brien was once again the star of the show for Ferrybank as the Easterners secured senior hurling for 2024 at a sun-soaked Walsh Park.

2-22 to 1-14 was the final score, with O'Brien scoring 1-14 of his side's tally.

MJ Sutton contributed 1-1 from the bench, while Ruaidhri McGarrity also hit 0-4 from play.

Gavin Fives scored a goal just thirty seconds into the second half for Cappoquin, but it proved in vain, despite them leading 0-11 to 0-10 at the break.

Paddy Mullally's side can now look forward to senior hurling next season, while Dunhill will replace them in the premier intermediate grade.

Elsewhere today, The Brickey Rangers are Waterford intermediate hurling champions for the very first time.

They saw off Portlaw in the County Intermediate Final at Walsh Park this afternoon on a scoreline of 0-23 to 1-14.

Tom O'Connell starred with 0-11 for the men in black and amber, while teenager Peter Cummins, chipped in with 0-6 from play.

An Sean Phobal are Junior C champions after a 1-13 to 1-9 win over Roanmore.

The County Junior A final sees Ardmore take on Roanmore at 7pm.
