Fenor take their first footsteps into the Munster Junior Football Championship this Saturday, as they welcome Firies of Kerry to Walsh Park for a 1.15pm throw-in.
Mick Murphy's side will play intermediate football in 2025 having recently defeated Ballyduff Upper in the county final.
He says it promises to be a huge occasion for the club.
"You've got fellas like Greg O'Neill there that came into the dressing room just after winning the county final for a sing-song and that - he was involved the last time they won the junior 45 years ago. It means a massive amount to the likes of them guys. You've young fellas coming through as well. It's a big occasion for them. Everyone is excited about it and we'll see how it goes."
Murphy isn't underestimating the scale of the test ahead of them.
"Any team that comes out of Kerry is expected to win the All-Ireland in junior. They're going to be a tough opposition. I have family below in Kerry and all they're hearing all week is that Firies are thinking of an All-Ireland."
No matter what happens on Saturday, Murphy says it's been an amazing year for Fenor.
"This has been a great year for Fenor with the first junior title in 45 years. We've managed to get a few extra miles out of some of the older lads on the team and we've integrated five minors from last year's Clan na nGael Division One winning team. We've integrated them successfully into the team - it's been a good year. Regardless of what happens on Saturday."
