De La Salle came out on top of this group A clash in Walsh Park on a score line of 24 points to 12 points.
Jack Fagan was excellent throughout, scoring 3 points along with inside man Brian Cunnigham chipping in 4 from play. Ruben O' Halloran was excellent from placed balls.
Ian Flynn's side were set on picking themselves up after a heavy defeat to Ballygunner in the opening round, and from the get-go they were in control of this contest. Leading by 8 points at the break, Salle picked up were they left off firing over 11 second half scores with ease. The win sends them to the knockout stages as second seed in A behind defending champions Ballygunner.
As for Paul Carley's charges it's back to the drawing board, Passage were missing key men from the start including Jason Roche & Noel Connors who made a late appearance from the bench. Passage's main threat in the contest was Owen Connors who scored 5 from play including a long distance - all of 100 yards score - well into the 2nd half. The the Suirsiders could find no answer for Salle's energy and enthusiasm as they comfortably won this contest.
Both sides now wait to see who they will face in the draw which takes place after the last game of the doubleheader in Fraher Field this Sunday afternoon.
