The Nemo Rangers club man has previously served as the manager of the Cork minors, while also spending time with the Limerick and Clare seniors.

Waterford parted company with Shane Ronayne at the end of last month, with the Cork native taking up the then vacant job with Cork.
In what has transpired to be a straight swap, Fitzgerald now fills the void left by Ronayne.
