Finn Harp's Mark McGinley produced his first save of the game from Dean Walshe shortly afterwards and he saved again from Michael O'Connor on 87 minutes following good work by Zack Elbouzedi.

However the Blues had to leave Donegal empty-handed.

Elsewhere in the League of Ireland last night, it was a special occasion for Bohemians at Richmond Park.

A scoreless draw away to St. Pat's secured a return to European football for Bohs for the first time in eight years.
