The Waterford U20 football team were at the end of a 30 point defeat to Kerry in Tralee last evening, despite playing reasonably well in the opening 20 minutes, the Kingdom cruised to a 3-22 to 0-1 win.
Aidan Fitzgerald was the lone Waterford scorer as Kerry ran out the most comprehensive of winners to set up a Munster Final date with Cork.
Waterford manager Tom Flynn said it was tough for his team.
He criticised the Munster Championship system when speaking to WLR Sport afterwards "In Munster alone, Limerick were beaten by 28 points, we were beaten by 30 points, Cork beat Tipperary by 17 points, and similiar to a lot of games in Munster and Connacht"
Tom says "until they address that, in fairness to our own County Board they are trying to put things in place that these thing's won't happen again, at least we'll get two or three games within our own ilk.
Tom praised his entire panel for willing to represent their county and also thanked the County Board for their support and encouragement.
