De La Salle College are through to the quarter finals of the Harty Cup as they earned a share of the spoils against Midleton CBS at a breezy Bushy Park this afternoon (2-10 to 1-13).
Midleton top scorer Ross O'Regan hit a last gasp point to level up a see saw contest. Salle corner forward Cormac Power struck 2-5 as the Waterford school did enough to secure a place in the knockout stages in the New Year.
Power fired home his first on 23 minutes after Jack McGann pulled off a brilliant save from Alan Kirwan. That green flag helped them into a 1-5 to 0-5 half time lead after playing with the elements. Gavin Corbett and Kirwan set him up for a second on 36 minutes to put them seven points up.
Midleton full forward Joe Stack scrambled home a goal as the team in red fired 1-6 without reply. Second half points from Cian Wadding, Mark Fitzgerald, Corbett and Power edged Salle in front again before O'Regan landed the equaliser.
