A powerful second half display from De La Salle gave them a 5-17 to 1-16 victory over Eastern rivals Mount Sion at Walsh Park in the opening Quarter-Final of the day.
Shane Ryan, Eddie Meaney, Paidi Nevin, Cormac McCann and Thomas Douglas all found the net for the Gracedieu outfit.
They outscored Sion 4-10 to 1-8 in the second period and completed the hour with ten different scorers. Austin Gleeson finished with 1-11 including three first half sidelines and a late penalty.
Speaking to WLR Sport after the game, De La Salle boss Owen Dunphy felt that they upped their work rate in the second half.
He was delighted with the contribution of the underage medalists this afternoon.
Salle have a four week wait until the semi finals and Dunphy would prefer to play sooner.
