Waterford centre back Iarlaith Daly has emerged as an injury doubt for Saturday’s All Ireland SHC qualifier with Galway at Semple Stadium.
It is understood that the Lismore defender suffered a quad injury in training on Tuesday night.
Daly was nominated for young hurler of the year in 2020 and made his first championship start in the Munster quarter final defeat to Clare last month.
Kieran Bennett, who missed the win over Laois, is also in a race to be fit. The Ballysaggart man is recovering from a tendon injury.
Captain Conor Prunty returned from a quad injury against the O’Moore men while All Star midfielder Jamie Barron, who had a similar issue, came off the bench with twelve minutes left. .
