Waterford's Craig Breen and his co-driver Paul Nagle have finished second at Rally Sardinia.
Having won two of the eight stages on Saturday, the Slieverue man trailed former world champion, Finland's Ott Tanak - by 46 seconds heading into today's final four stages.
Tanak was on top form again today - winning stage 20 to all but secure his place at the top of the podium.
Belgium's Thierry Neuville won the other two stages today. At the close of action, the Finland native Tanak was 1 minute and 3 seconds ahead of Breen - with Spain's Dani Sordo taking third.
It's a best performance of the season for Breen and Nagle - with the Ford M-Sport driver having earlier finished 3rd at Rally Monte Carlo. Breen was 4th at Rally Croatia and 8th at Rally Portugal.
Tanak's victory marked Hyundai's first triumph in the new Rally1 era.
