Modeligo and Abbeyside are celebrating historic victories having come out the right side of the county intermediate and junior camogie finals at the weekend.
Modeligo saw off their great rivals Lismore by 4-7 to 1-13 in Cappoquin. They led 2-3 to 0-3 in the opening quarter having made a strong start, but Lismore battled back to within a point midway through the second half. Modeligo's eye for goal proved crucial as they won out by three points - securing senior camogie for 2025.
They will represent the Deise in Munster against the Clare champions on Saturday October 26th.
Abbeyside will join the intermediate ranks for 2025 after they saw off An Rinn in the county junior final. Abbeyside led by eight at the break following a strong first-half showing, taking a 2-6 to 0-4 lead into the dressing room. They kicked on once again from there winning out 3-12 to 0-8 at the finish - securing a piece of history for the club.
In the Junior B semi-final, St. Anne's saw off Butlerstown by 2-7 to 1-7 and they will now advance to take on Clonea in the county final.
At senior level, the county semi-finals are down for decision with a double header at the SETU Arena this Sunday.
Reigning champions De La Salle meet St. Anne's at 1 - and that's followed by the clash of Gailltir and the Brickey Rangers from 3.
