Peter Hogan and Ian Kenny are the main injury worries for the Waterford hurlers ahead of Sunday's Munster championship opener against Cork at Walsh Park.
Selector Peter Queally confirmed that the Ballygunner duo are unlikely to make the starting fifteen.
"They've just come back from injuries. Peter's groin - he pulled it there a couple of weeks ago in an A versus B game. Ian's then is a little bit more technical. There's a hamstring / touch of a tendon on the back of the hamstring. So he's nearly back now as well."
Tadhg De Burca is expected to feature. The All Star defender is nearing a return after a twelve-month injury absence.
"Hopefully now, yeah. He's got a bit of game time, you know, bits and pieces, like. He's not ready yet for 70 minutes. He hasn't got 70 minutes into him yet, or near it, so he's bringing him back bit by bit. We'll make a call on that closer to the game. He's looking good, and so is Conor Prunty, and so is Stephen Bennett."
