The draw has been completed for the World Boxing Championships and Waterford's Kelyn Cassidy (80 Kg, Saviours Crystal's) will have a bye to the second round.
On the other side of the draw, Cassidy will be watching closely to see who comes through the first-round qualifier.
Shabbos Negmatulloev (Tajikistan) who competed at the Tokyo Olympics, will face Germany's Silvio Schierle. The German also competed at the Tokyo games and has previously been to the world championships where he was beaten by Australian Campebll Summerville in the first round.
Elsewhere for Team Ireland, Ricky Nesbitt (48kg, Holy Family) has been drawn against Uzbekistan's Nodirjon Mirzakhmedov.
Sean Mari (51kg, Monkstown) will enter the ring against Hungary's Attila Bernath.
Adam Hession (57 kg, Monieva) who is seen as one of the shining prospects of Irish boxing has a bye to the second round in his draw at lightweight.
JP McHale (60 kg, Star) will face Serbian Semiz Alicic.
Brandon McCarthy (63kg, St Michaels Athy) is against Nijat Hasanov from Azerbaijan.
Eugene McKeever (67 kg, Holy Family) will get his competition underway against another Uzbekistan fighter A. Muydinkhulaev.
