Waterford FC centre-back Killian Cantwell has confirmed that he suffered a fractured eye socket in Saturday's draw with Bohemians.
The new signing was rushed to the hospital by ambulance after being accidentally kicked in the face.
On social media overnight, Kantwell noted that the medical staff were optimistic that there was no long-term damage.
Speaking after the game Ian Morris was expectedly concerned for Cantwell who was stretchered off the pitch after the incident. When asked whether or not they would have to go back to the transfer market once again, Morris indicated that he may be forced to do so with Kantwell possibly out of contention for several weeks.
