Mark Cummins is the September winner of the WLR Granville Hotel GAA Award.
The Brickey Rangers midfielder was a goal-scoring machine in the county senior football championship, scoring 4-5 in three matches.
Cummins had the game of his life against Stradbally, shooting 1-5 as the Brickeys pulled off a shock win over the Reds.
Cummins carried that form into the Round 2 game against An Rinn, despite defeat that night Brickies topped their group before they were narrowly beaten by Gaultier in the Co. Quarter-Final.
Speaking to WLR Sport, Mark was thrilled to win his first monthly award:
"I wasn't expecting that phonecall at all, but it was lovely to get".
Mark said he was delighted with the progress Brickey Rangers made in the football club Championship this season having been fighting relegation over the last few seasons:
"It was great. A progressive year - we'll keep it going hopefully!"
Mark is a member of the Déise football panel, and says the panel is in good spirits heading into this weekend's Munster Championship Quarter-Final as Limerick roll into Fraher Field on Saturday night:
"Hopefully now everything goes right..we can get the W against Limerick. It's always a tight enough game in the league so hopefully now we can do it."
The Limerick match has a 7pm throw-in in Fraher Field and the game will be live on WLR thanks to George Corbett Skoda with a commentary team of Gavin Whelan and Stephen Cunningham.
