Waterford FC have lost out by four goals to one in their friendly game with League of Ireland champions Shelbourne in Dublin today.
Harry Wood opened the scoring for Shels after just 13 minutes.
Sean Boyd doubled the lead on 53 minutes before Podge Amond reduced the deficit with a headed goal from a Ben McCormack corner nine minutes later.
However, Boyd got his second 15 minutes from time before Mipo Odubeko added a fourth near the end.
