Waterford FC will be hoping for a positive response from Friday's Munster derby defeat to Cork City.

The Blues make a swift return to Airtricity League Premier Division action tonight as Shamrock Rovers roll into town.

Waterford did mount a llate comeback on Friday but it was too late as the Leesiders deservedly took all three points following a disappointind display by the home team.

The Dubliners are on a rich vein of form at occupy second place on the league table.

Franny Rockett is the Blues first-team coach and he's hoping for a big performance tonight; "the way we look at it, we can't feel sorry for ourselves, we need to bounce back it's a home game so we're hoping to get a crowd down, we'd like to think that we can galvanise the squad, we need to be positive going into this one"

Elsewhere tonight, Dundalk host Bohemians in the EA Sports Cup semi final at Oriel Park from 7.45.
