Ballygunner attacker Billy O'Keeffe is the January winner of the WLR Granville Hotel GAA Award.
He scored 2-3 in a man of the match display against Slaughtneil in the All Ireland semi-final.
His move from wing back to corner forward was a game-changer as the Gunners became the first Waterford club to claim the Tommy Moore Cup.
He says that it was one of his best days in a Ballygunner shirt.
"It all happened all of a sudden. I remember Barry Coughlan coming out with two or three balls and thinking - we're gonna start a play here. I was saying 'this is it, we have to win it.' It went from Ian to Paddy to Peter. I couldn't help but think that they showed a lot of composure. I was thinking, something's building here - the right man got it and Harry has legs to burn in the middle."
Billy finished the season with 5 goals and 13 points. He was over the moon to pick up his first monthly prize.
"I'm absolutely delighted. A lot of brilliant sports stars have won it in the past few years, it's a fantastic achievement and I've looked up to them. To be put in the same bracket as them is unreal for myself."
