Waterford's Thomas Barr was back in action in the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Paris last night.
Despite running his second-best time of the season of 49.32 seconds in the 400 metres hurdles the Ferrybank AC athlete finished well down in 7th place.
The race was won in a very fast time of 47.26 by World Champion Karsten Warholm of Norway.
Thomas, however, heads the league points table with 25 points - one ahead of Warholm - and runs in Zurich on Thursday and should make the final in Brussels on September 6th.
Very happy with tonight’s race, feels like the season is really starting now. Thanks for the pics Cathal, I’ll be adding these to the stock (@michellesammet will be proud 😁😅). https://t.co/kttCdDHeCj
