Thomas Barr was last night eliminated at the semi-final stage of the World Athletic Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Running in the first semi-final of the 400 meters hurdles from lane 5 Thomas Barr who was never challenging eventually finished 5th in a time of 50.08.
The race was won by the pre-race favourite Rai Benjamin of the USA in 48.44, with Jaheel Hyde Jamaica 2nd in 49.09.
The final qualifying place went to Rasmus Magi from Estonia in Race 2 where he set a time of 48.44. Magi had already beaten Barr in the heats on Saturday.
