The Ballymacarbry ladies football team go in search of their first Munster A title in eighteen years on Saturday when they meet Cork champions Mourneabbey in Cahir.
Ballymac captain Louise Ryan is keen to end that long wait. "I came onto the panel in 2001, so I don't have a Munster A medal. I think there's only three players on the panel that have one: Michelle Ryan, Linda Wall and Michelle McGrath. The rest of us are itching to bring that cup home. The cup is named after my dad Michael so it would be really special to bring that back to Ballymacarbry."
Ryan came off with a calf injury in last weekend's Munster B final against The Banner and is hoping to prove her fitness for Saturday. Goals from Michelle Ryan, Aileen Wall and Sinead Ryan gave them a nine point victory over their Clare rivals.
Mourneabbey prevailed by 3-9 to 0-11 when the sides met in last year's final at the WIT Arena. They are aiming for their fifth provincial title in a row.
Throw in is at 4 o'clock.
