In 1966 Ballygunner won their first senior county title when they beat Mt Sion.
In a parallel similar to today, Mt Sion were on the verge of competing their own seven in a row but Ballygunner stepped up and stopped the charge to seven straight championships.
The Ballygunner team had five Hearne brothers present with Michael, Paddy, Tommy, Paul and Sean.
After winning their first county title, Ballygunner would go on to defend it twice - achieving their first three in a row.
Forty Seven years later, Michael sat in Walsh Park with his brother Tommy to see Passage turn over Ballygunner in the dying minutes to win their first senior county title.
That was the last time a team not named Ballygunner won the Waterford Senior Hurling title - and today, the odds are stacked against Passage as the public view is that this Ballygunner side cant be stopped.
Throw in is at 2 o clock in Walsh Park, but before that, you can listen to Michael tell his story of his days marking Tom Cheasty and holding him to just two points from play.
