Stradbally, An Rinn, Ballinacourty and The Nire advanced to the quarter finals of the county senior football championship over the weekend.
Courty sealed their place in the latter stages last night as they came through an ill tempered clash with The Nire by 1-10 to 0-10. Mark Ferncombe netted a first half goal while Gary Hurney kicked four points. Nire defender Dermot Ryan received his marching orders in injury time.
Speaking to WLR Sport afterwards, 'Courty boss Peter Queally was relieved to top the group and reach the last eight in September
Queally was glad to have veteran forward Gary Hurney back in the fold.
Peter also praised the the influence of goalkeeper Stephen Enright who pulled off a string of fine saves.
The draw for the quarter final play-offs was held last night.
