Waterford GAA will not be appealing Austin Gleeson's red card against Wexford in Sunday's Allianz National Hurling League Division 1 semi-final, meaning the Mount Sion man will miss Saturday's final against Cork.
Gleeson scored 2-3 on the day in a superb performance, but was dismissed late on by referee John Keenan following an off-the-ball incident involving Wexford corner-back Simon Donohoe.
The Deise went on to defeat their South-East rivals by nineteen points - 5-20 to 0-16, and now face Cork on Saturday at Semple Stadium with throw-in at 7.15pm.
Waterford County Board Chairman Sean Michael O'Regan confirmed to WLR this morning that the board will not be appealing the decision.
Management reviewed the game last night, and following analysis of video footage - the decision was taken not to make any appeal.
Liam Cahill will now have to plan without Austin Gleeson for Saturday's showpiece, with Stephen Bennett, Conor Prunty and Jamie Barron also currently sidelined with injury.
