There was All Ireland final heartbreak for Gailltir at Semple Stadium this afternoon as St Rynaghs lifted the 2020 title.

The Offaly side recorded a 1-11 to 0-10 victory to gain revenge for the 2019 decider and claim their first All Ireland.

Player of the Match Kate Kenny got nine points while Aoife McLoughlin netted the crucial goal three minutes into the second half.

Aoife Fitzgerald fired six points for Gailltir, Anne Corcoran chipped in with two while Clodagh Carroll was outstanding at centre back.

Despite the defeat, Gailltir selector Gail O'Sullivan was proud of the players. "It's devastating on the girls, they put in such hard work. They tried everything, absolutely everything. Unfortunately, it wasn't our day. Hats off to St Rynaghs, they were the better team on the day. We'll have to get ourselves together now and we have two weeks to prepare for the 2021 Munster campaign. In the next few days, we'll regroup and put the shoulder to the wheel again."
