Aine Wall was last night inducted into the GAA Writers Hall of Fame.

The Ballymac and Waterford stalwart was part of the Waterford team that lifted a first-ever senior title for the county in 1991 when they beat Laois 5.08 to 3.07.

Wall was a crucial part of the Waterford senior team that won 5 All-Ireland titles as they battled Monaghan and Laois throughout the nineties.

She also picked up no less than eight All-Stars playing for her county.

The 1998 final, which saw Wall contribute for the Deise, was the first ever televised game of ladies' football. Waterford were held to a draw by Monaghan, but Michael Ryan's side overcame the challenge of their fierce rivals in the replay

While Ballymac last year won their 40th consecutive Waterford county title, Aine was there at the beginning and helped the club towards 10 All-Ireland club titles.
