Conway Cup holders The Nire fought back from ten points down to defeat An Rinn 1-15 to 2-11 after extra time in another eventful senior football quarter final at Fraher Field last night.
First half goals by Lorcán Ó Corraoin and Fearghal Ó Cuirrín put the Gaeltacht men in the driving seat while Donie Breathnach shot five points (four from play).
A Craig Guiry goal on 41 minutes started the comeback for The Nire before Shane O'Meara forced extra time with a late free.
Points from Shane Ryan, Tom Barron and Ciaran Walsh in the additional twenty minutes got the Ballymacarbry men over the line.
The Nire will meet Ballinacourty in the last four while Stradbally will face Rathgormack. Those ties will take place on the weekend of October 6th.
