Extra time goals by Cormac Gough and Kevin Lawlor saw fourteen man Stradbally squeeze past Clashmore by 3-15 to 2-12 in last night's senior football quarter final at Fraher Field.

A last minute goal from Sean Fleming put a Clashmore a point ahead before full back Tony Grey kicked a late equaliser to force extra time. Daniel Weldon was dismissed during the first period but Gough and Lawlor fired them through to the last four. The excellent Eoin O'Brien finished with six points from play for the winners.

Reds boss John Hearne was relieved to reach to another semi final. "Very much so. When you're brought to extra time and you're a man down, all the cards are stacked against you."
