Donal O'Rourke has stepped down as Waterford senior camogie manager after two seasons in charge.

The Cappoquin man brought the Déise to back to back All Ireland quarter finals. "It was an honour to have managed my county," O'Rourke told WLR Sport last night. "I'd like to thank Waterford camogie and the Waterford public for their support over the last two seasons." He added that this was the best group of players he has been involved with.

During his tenure, Waterford defeated Clare (twice), Limerick, Dublin and Meath in the All Ireland series. They led eventual O'Duffy Cup winners Galway by five points during this summer's quarter final in Semple Stadium before the Tribeswomen reeled them in.

The former Waterford goalkeeper will take up a coaching role with Erins Own in Cork next season. "It's a massive club with massive plans over the next twelve months."
